“I’ve always been a Christian.” This is the statement that so many make when sharing their faith story. But is that true? The scriptures make it clear that a person is not born a Christian, but becomes one, at a moment in time that marks a radical departure from the previous way of life. For the recipients of Peter’s letter, they went from being drunken, idolatrous, wild partiers to passion ate followers of Jesus, enjoying a fullness of life that had earlier escaped them.
