SOTD Proverbs 19

Proverbs 19

1(ND) Better is a poor person who(NE) walks in his integrity
than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool.
2Desire[ac] without knowledge is not good,
and whoever(NF) makes haste with his feet misses his way.
3When a man’s folly(NG) brings his way to ruin,
his heart(NH) rages against the LORD.
4(NI) Wealth brings many new friends,
but a poor man is deserted by his friend.
5(NJ) A false witness will not go unpunished,
and he who(NK) breathes out lies will not escape.
6Many seek the favor of a generous man,[ad]
and everyone is a friend to a man who gives(NL) gifts.
7(NM) All a poor man’s brothers hate him;
(NN) how much more do his friends go far from him!
He pursues them with words, but does not have them.[ae] 8(NO) Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will(NP) discover good.
9(NQ) A false witness will not go unpunished,
and he who(NR) breathes out lies will perish.
10(NS) It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury,
much less for(NT) a slave to rule over princes.
11(NU) Good sense makes one slow to anger,
and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
12A king’s wrath is like(NV) the growling of a lion,
but his(NW) favor is like(NX) dew on the grass.
13(NY) A foolish son is ruin to his father,
and(NZ) a wife’s quarreling is(OA) a continual dripping of rain.
