All That We Need
All That We Need

“May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” – 2 Peter 1:2-4
Hello Church Family,
We worship the Living God and His Living Son, Jesus Christ. The fact is, Jesus is alive and reigning. Christians live out that reality in the world each and every day. God’s promises link us today with the past events recorded in the Bible. Those promises equip us for the challenges we face each day. The God who overcame in the past overcomes in our lives today.
Here are just a few of the promises on which we stand as Christians.
God’s promise to save us: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
God’s promise of strength and help: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
God’s promise never to leave or forsake us: “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’” – Hebrews 13:5-6
God’s promise to work in us to make us want and do His will: “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:12-13
God’s promise to be with us to the end of the age: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” – Matthew 28:18-20
God’s promise to give us eternal life: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” – John 10:27-30
God’s promise to supply our every need: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19
God’s promise to complete the work He began in you: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
God’s promise of perfect peace and security: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.” – Isaiah 26:3-4
Promises for Christ’s Church
The fact is, we are not building the church. The Living God has committed Himself to that task. God the Son is at work in us as individuals and as a congregation to build His kingdom, one soul at a time. We overcome the world by believing in the One who bought us for Himself with His blood. And the resurrection power of Jesus Christ is working in and through US.
Pray for a Spirit of Prayer to fall on us as a congregation: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” – John 14:12-14
Ask God to provide leaders who will feed us with the truth of His Word: “And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” – Jeremiah 3:15
Pray for a growing awareness of God’s presence with us: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” – Matthew 28:18-20
Expect richer fellowship with each other as we walk in the light: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:7
Pray in light of our place in the sweep of God’s mighty work to win a people for Himself from every corner of the earth: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Rest in the fact that Jesus is working in us to build His church: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” – Matthew 16:18
