NEXT Steps

Hello Church Family,

As we head into our ministry year, we are not only preparing for the many ministries that are starting, but we are making preparations to begin the process of looking for our next lead pastor, or who we like to call, Pastor Next! 

Last week, we took a big step in finding our next lead pastor by completing the NP All-church Online Assessment. If you took the time to participate, thank you!

An important step in preparing for Pastor Next will be approving our Lead Pastor Search Committee, which consists of candidates Mark Blincoe, Rich Simpson, Erin Hanson, and Sandra Tront,  along with elders Vinoj Zachariah, Steve Flood, and Mike Russell. On September 8, NP membership will be affirming this committee during both services. There is more information on the Search Committee below in “What’s Happening at Northpoint.”

Another step happens over the weekend of September 14, 15, and 16. For three days, our ministry partners from NL Moore, a ministry search firm, will be visiting Northpoint to help their team to get a feel for Northpoint, our rich history, and our unique calling, as well as to share with us the road ahead as we move forward. To accomplish this, they will be meeting with the elders and ministry leaders.

In addition, the elders would like to give everyone at Northpoint the opportunity to hear from NL Moore, give them input into what qualities the ideal candidate for Pastor Next should possess, and allow everyone the chance to ask them questions. There will be two open meetings for Northpoint attendees during the site-visit weekend, both in Heritage Hall:

Please note: If you are a ministry leader and received a personal invitation to meet with NL Moore, please plan to attend your scheduled session, not one of the open meetings listed above.

Please pray for this important step we are taking at our church, and specifically that our advisors form NL Moore would gain wisdom and insight into the direction God intends for us to take.
