Our Mission
Our Mission
Fitting into the overall mission of Northpoint, the mission of Revolve is to build complete men and women. This page unwraps a little bit more what it means for us to carry out this mission.
Mission: Building a community through the Gospel for our mission to the church, our cities, and the world so that God is worshiped.
We do not want our work and ministry to be pointless…so we constantly strive to keep our mission at the front of our minds. It is this mission that drives all we do in our Revolve Community.
Our primary goal is to build a community of students. Why community? A community is a group of people called out by God who exist for the same mission…regardless of their age, background, or interests. A community, another way of speaking of “the church”, is God’s people coming together to “be the Church” that God has called us to be. We desire both to build up the existing community and bring more people to be a part of this community so that God’s church can grow and carry out His mission.
We are convinced that the only way to do this is “through the Gospel”. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Rom. 1:16). Creative events, cool design, and exciting teaching can not do this…it is only through the power of the Gospel. While we seek to be relevant to the culture we live in, we also realize that the true builder of the church is Jesus Christ working through the Gospel that breaks into hearts through the power of God’s Spirit.
Why do we want to “build a community through the Gospel?” We don’t do it just to do it…but for the mission that God has given His people, the church (Matt. 28:18-20; John 20:21-23; Acts 1:8). We build community so that we can accomplish our mission to serve our church (Northpoint), to serve our cities (Corona, Norco, Eastvale, Riverside, and beyond), and to serve our world (Mexico, Alaska, Ethiopia, and beyond). Our mission must stay in the front of our hearts and minds…it is the primary reason that God has left the church here on this earth. We seek to carry this mission out through both Gospel proclamation and Gospel compassion in our schools, our neighborhoods, our work-places, and every other sphere of life that God has given us.
The ultimate reason we do anything…to worship God and bring glory to Him. This underlies all that we do and is both the starting point and ending point of our mission. Just our Savior Jesus exemplified, our ultimate goal is to bring glory to God so that He is all and in all. (John 17:1; 1 Cor. 15:28)
