1 Peter 2:9-12 -- In these verses, Peter simply and yet powerfully depicts important characteristics of the new life we have in Christ. First of which is that we have been given a new identity. We have become a chosen race, a royal priesthood, God's own possession. Since this is who we now are, we are empowered to fight the internal war with our own sinful desires.
