CloseThroughout Peter’s first letter, he calls Christians to be uncommon people. Peculiar, even. Peter describes Christians with words like: aliens, exiles, and sojourners. The point being that our ultimate citizenship is in a different kingdom and so we live by a different ethic. In the passage in focus this morning, Peter calls Christians to a new level of strangeness: he calls us to live as though the world were about to end.
