Here is the latest update on Naíme Phillips' surgery from last week.

Good evening, dear ones.

For the last four days, Naíme has been in the ICU after the intervention she had on Friday. She spent a couple of days wearing a mask through which she breathed heliox (helium and oxygen). Her breathing has improved and her stridor is much less than before. Her voice is hoarse. She has been able to continue eating foods that are easy to chew (which makes her very happy) although she continues to be given fluids by tube.

This morning we have been moved to the main floor, so she resumes her respiratory, speech and physical therapies. The administration of corticosteroids and other medications is also reduced. Her eyesight improves (when she cannot focus well, she closes her left eye and makes a double effort with her right). She is beginning to read on her computer in very large print. She has written me love letters from daughter to mother, in large print which are almost always legible. She doesn't always see the page boundary but we have been told that all of these details are corrected with therapy and consistency. In the area of math she has also surprised us (at a level of third grade, more or less).

Thanks to her smile and her desire to fight, Naíme has been loved by the doctors, therapists and nurses of the ICU and the ward. Many of them have made moving comments to us and we feel extremely loved and cared for by the entire healthcare team ~ and by all of you, for your wishes to be able to help even more. Your prayers sustain us. We are learning to live today (“with its own eagerness”) and not to focus on permanent and irreversible damages, but on the achievements and advances that we have seen since Naíme opened her eyes and clenched her fists when she came out of the coma.

How much compassion of God! Love ️

Naíme (Mom)

Naîme Phillips is recovering from surgery to close up gaps in her airway to prevent air from leaking and going where it shouldn't go and complicating her breathing. Please pray for her to heal quickly and well, so she can resume normal breathing, which is difficult for her right now as she heals. Pray also for an end to inflammation in her larynx.

Please ask God to raise up someone to run the International Students Ministry at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The ministry is thriving, but it's likely to lose its leadership after a few years.

Please continue to pray for the Phillips family, our missionaries in Spain. Their daughter Naíme is having a significant setback in her recovery from her accident in February. An infection in her throat makes it difficult to breathe, she has been returned to the hospital, and she is intubated for breathing and for eating.

Naíme and her family has known that the recovery would be long, and this setback is discouraging, though not unexpected. Please pray for her and her family to be strong in faith and for Naíme to continue on the road to recovery with God's strength and effective treatment. Please pray for the Church in Barcelona to be strong also.

Naíme Phillips had trouble breathing again last night. She had to be intubated and returned to the hospital in Barcelona. Clearly recovery from her accident is long, difficult, and unpredictable. Please continue to pray for complete healing and for the young Church in Spain to grow in faith and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers for my grand niece, Naimita (little Naime). She was just released to go home from the hospital after having a blockage removed from her esophagus.

She continues to recover slowly from injuries from being hit by a car on February 1st. She still needs to recover from neurological damage, regain her physical abilities, and receive her sight.

Pray also, please, for strength for her family and the effectiveness of their ministry in Spain.

Hello Northpoint family, I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. If you are on this site, it means that you have a prayer request to share, or you want to pray for someone who shared a prayer request on this wall. It is a gift to have technology like this that allows us to pray for one another even if we're not physically in the same place. So, if you have a prayer request, please share it on this wall, and we will pray for you and with you. Below are two prayer requests:

• Mary Williams, a member of our church family has an urgent prayer request. Mary received a word today that her sister Bea has developed Coronavirus. She has had it for a week now, and she is very sick at home. Bea is a believer. Would you pray for Bea’s healing and recovery?
