Thank You from Northpoint Church
Dear Church Family,
I trust that you all are doing well and have continued to keep your confidence in the Lord as you navigate these challenging and uncertain times.
At Northpoint, we believe the gospel of Jesus is the message that the world desperately needs to hear, and we are committed to proclaim it in our family, community, and the world. As we pray for physical healing from COVID and a revival of love and grace for one another in our communities, we also want to display to the community around us the love of Jesus in practical ways. One of the ways we can do this is by stepping outside of our comfort zones to serve others beyond our church walls.
While there are a number of ways we are developing to reach out to the people in our community, given the current COVID crisis, it is fitting to start by recognizing, honoring, and appreciating our first responders and police officers in Corona that are putting their lives on the line every single day on our behalf to save lives as well as make our community a safer place to live.
As you all know, these individuals are the first to respond to our call in times of need. While we hope we never have to make that call, it’s always comforting to know that help is a matter of minutes away. There have been only a few times over the years when I had to call for help—namely, when my youngest son experienced a medical emergency while he was a cancer patient. I can’t tell you how grateful and thankful Tigist and I have been for these amazing professionals coming to our aid during times of crisis. And I am sure you share our gratitude.
With this in mind, I am thrilled to announce a church-wide campaign, Thank You from Northpoint Church, to collect letters of appreciation and encouragement, along with gift cards, to present to our firefighters and police officers in Corona. We desire to mobilize the whole church for this task because we want to be sure you have the opportunity to bless these service providers.
There are a total of 147 police officers and 82 firefighters in Corona.
Our goal:
- Collect 230 thank you letters/cards from you, our church family. Families with small children are encouraged to write cards with your children so that we get a variety of notes.
- Collect 230 gift cards ($5 individual gift cards for each firefighter and police officer that goes with each thank you card).
Collection dates: THIS Saturday, August 15, out the Northpoint Saturday night service.
While we find ourselves under a second shutdown, may the Lord help us to use these days to draw close to Him, encourage one another, and look for more opportunities to serve our church family and the community.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
In His Service,
