A hopeful update from Mama Naíme (Phillips):
Dear family and friends,
Naíme is due to have a laryngoscopy on Monday to see her healing has progressed since the last surgery. Doctors have told us that if all goes well, she will likely be discharged on Tuesday. We are very excited but we are cautious.
The doctors will have to give us guidelines of what to do in case of choking or breathing difficulties. She will continue to receive her therapies through the hospital patient portal. One of the purposes of these therapies is to make Naíme achieve a certain autonomy in her daily activities. We have a long way to go and we will need strength for this new reality.
We greatly appreciate your prayers and expressions of support and affection. Thank God for the miracle of life and the way our daughter's neural system is regenerating. How much mercy! With fraternal love,
