Adventure Nights in July!!

The weather is getting warmer, and the months are flying by!  Summer will be here before we know it!  With summertime comes our annual kid’s Bible program, Adventure Nights (formerly known as Vacation Bible School).

Mark your calendars: July 19-23, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, for the “Summer Knight Show”!

The famous fictional television talk show host, Summer Knight, will tape five shows in July from our own Northpoint Heritage Hall venue.  Her special guest for the week will be the apostle Paul, regaling stories of his life as a Christ-follower, sharing how God used him to further the gospel.  Come learn how God can use you too, as you submit your life to Christ every day!

Tickets for the show’s taping will be available to the community on Monday, July 5… keep checking the website for the registration form (then bring it to the church office to get your Parent Handout with vital information for the week).  Northpoint families will be able to register for Adventure Nights beginning Sunday, June 27.

So much has already been done in preparation for this event!  Behind-the-scenes writers, directors, craft and grade leaders have been creating the backdrop for the teachings of the life of Paul.  Volunteer sign-ups will begin May 23.  Are you aware that about 200 volunteers are needed – before, during, or after – to make this event a reality for the 320 or more children, entering Kindergarten through sixth grade, that attend?  Stop by the table Sunday, May 23, to see the varied array of service opportunities!

On June 2, we will begin our Wednesday Prep Days, from 9 am to noon.  Childcare will be provided, and we are gathering to cut, sort, count, bag, and number items for crafts and classroom supplies.  This is a great time to visit with friends while providing a needed service!  Mark your calendars!  Wednesday Prep Day will be every Wednesday through June and into July.

A list of donation items will be available as craft designs are finalized.  We already know we need 100 used men’s neckties, 100 1-lb bags of dry Cannellini beans, and about 600 1″jingle bells!

This event needs to be bathed in prayer.  I would love for you to commit now to praying for the planning, the preparation, and especially the hearts of the children who will be on our campus that week.  Our week can be summarized using the themes for Monday and Friday… God saves sinners, and God’s glory is our goal.  May God be glorified through our efforts to share the gospel with the children of our church family and surrounding community… through Adventure Nights.

In His service and for His glory,

Jill Roth – Children’s Ministry Special Events
